In France, singles were the music market’s poor relation. They were issued as promotional records or for jukeboxes and were long overlooked by collectors, not least because they didn’t come in picture sleeves. However, sometimes they contained different B-sides or mixes – such as in the case of the promotional version of Comment Te Dire Adieu, which differed to the version on SP V 1559.
Of course, CDs and the internet have made these tracks much easier to find, but for collectors there is pleasure to be taken in owning the original vinyl.
1962 – EP HV 27-90: Françoise Hardy Canta... Todos Los Chicos Y Chicas.
Foreign-language recordings can be a particular treat for collectors. Confusingly, however, some countries offer translations of titles on the record sleeves but only the original French-language recording inside. Spain is a case in point, so any Madrilenian snapping up Todos Los Chicos Y Chicas in the hope of snaffling a rare Spanish recording may be disappointed to hear Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles...
1962 – EP EPL 7967: Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles.
This classic EP can often be found at record fairs. Remember that the first edition is the one to look out for.

1965 – EP EPL 8346: Dis-Lui Non.
Hardy gave us so many songs that she had written herself that it’s easy
to forget that she also covered many British songs, such as Say It Now.
The trick laid in picking ones where she could deliver a different – and
perhaps better – vocal.
1965 – EP EPL 8348: All Over The World.
This was one of the rare occasions in the 1960s when a French artist
scaled the British charts. In this case, Hardy reached number 16. The
French version, Dans Le Monde Entier, had appeared on the preceding
EP, EPL 8346.
1965 – EP EPL 8352: Peter Und Lou.
This was the German version of Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles.

earlier albums.

1967 – LP VGL 7033 (South Africa) / LDVS 17 121 (France): Françoise
Hardy & Udo Jürgens.

Jürgens. Instead, it is made up of six songs by each artist.
